Slice of Shoreview Parade

Slice of Shoreview
Come join our service unit in the Slice of Shoreview parade on Saturday July 25, 2020.
Parade starts at 10am, line up starts at 9am.

Contact us at moundsviewgssu@gmail.com if you are interested in organizing this event

For each girl that wants to participate, please make sure that there is a responsible adult with her (parent, family member, or Troop Leader). This is NOT a drop off event! Let us know by Saturday 7/18/20 if you are interested, so she has an estimated number of participants.  Line up starts at 9am with the parade starting at 10am.

Interested in walking in a parade? We need someone to organize and sign us up for the Slice of Shoreview parade.
Please sign up for the 2020 Slice of Shoreview Parade HERE using the name "Girl Scouts Mounds View Service Unit". (DEADLINE JULY 1)

-There is no charge for girl scouts as we are a non-profit.
-Any adult may sign up to plan our girl scout service unit group.
-Let us know if you are signing up, so we don't have more than one group sign up from our service unit.

Parade Organizer's Job:
-Sign up for the parade by July 1.
-Let the service unit know you signed up (email us at moundsviewgssu@gmail.com)
-Send an email advertisement to the service unit with times and details, so we can email to the rest of the service unit. You can have a sign up/RSVP email, if you want to know who will be joining you. Make sure everyone knows they have to bring their own adults to walk with them in the parade (not a drop off event).
-Ask the SU Manager to order supplies for you to give away (tattoos and/or bookmarks)
-Purchase candy for the parade and put it in bags (The service unit will reimburse you up to about $50 for candy and supplies for the parade).
-Make 2 bags (usually brown lunch bags) of candy per girl - they get a second bag halfway through the parade
-Talk to the girls at the parade about how to distribute candy, so the first 5 kids don't get all the candy from every girl. NO throwing candy! Gently place candy in front of the kids or hand it to them.
-Have FUN!!!
